Police investigations into the murder of a chief in the Ga West Municipality community of Adeyman have led to the arrest of 3 suspects.
The development chief of the area, Nii Tettey Saban was murdered on June 8.
He was reportedly killed by hired thugs due to chieftaincy disputes with other families in the area.
The hired hands reportedly invaded the Adeyman home as the late Nii Tettey was in the midst of rituals to lift the ban on noise making imposed by the Ga traditional council.
While addressing the press at the police briefing, the PRO of the Greater Accra Regional Command, ASP Efia Tenge revealed that the suspects are seen as part of the gang that murdered the chief.
The suspects, identified as 39-year-old Asafoatse Nii Quaye Quartey, 28-year-old Musah Mohammed, and 20-year-old Rahim Yakubu,.
ASP Tenge revealed that the trio were grabbed by the police at the Ridge View Hotel in Kwabenya on 12th June after intelligence gathering by the police.
According to the police, the trio were planning to launch an attack on the hotel were they were arrested.
One of the suspects was caught with a handgun and several rounds of bullets.
Two unregistered motorbikes, which were among a number of motorbikes used by the suspects during the invasion of the Adeyman family stool house on June 8 were also retrieved.
