We are sure you have come across the meme of a troubled-looking young girl with her chin resting on her hand.
You haven’t? Well, here is the famous meme below.
One of the most popular use of it in the meme below and it is a rather apt look on her face that accompanies the message being portrayed.
And like with all things that originated from Ghana, Nigerians tried to take over the image and make it theirs.
But as the internet is a very wonderful place, we found out the lady who is behind the viral image and guess what?
She is not Nigerian as they would make you believe, she is actually Ghanaian.
Yhup! The serious-looking youngster in the image is that same smiley-faced adult below.
But what is the story behind the viral image?
Well, it ends with a birthday but it started with TV.
According to the 22-year-old, that is how she watches TV and her mother just happened to take photos of here like that.
Flash forward to a few years later in 2015, her brother, who also happens to be on Twitter, wished her happy birthday using the same picture, and the rest is history.
The now meme-lady just ended her study of Political Studies at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology is enjoying the hype for the meme.
But to prove that she is indeed the child in the picture, the young lady shared more photos taken by her mother from that night.
