The NDC Minority in Parliament are fighting back the Acting Chief Executive of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA); Justin Kodua Frimpong for what they describe as his ‘baseless cheap propaganda’ calculated to dent the out-gone Mahama administration
According to the Minority, YEA management cooked up figures under the pretext of detecting massive GH¢50 million fraud in payroll of beneficiaries.
The YEA Chief Executive, Kodua Frimpong had earlier confirmed that his out-fit had deleted 16,839 names from its payroll. The Agency said it took the decision after its internal audit showed that thousands of beneficiaries of were being paid fraudulently.
But addressing the media, MP for South Tongu Kobla Mensah Woyome, said the computerized system put in place by the previous Mahama administration cannot be manipulated for fraudulent activities.
This he said the allegations by the new YEA boss are in bad taste and questionable.
The minority therefore is throwing a challenge to management of YEA to produce and publish the ghost names he claimed it existed for the judgment of the general public.
“We are challenging the leadership to produce the names, E-zwich numbers, modules, youth employment numbers, regions and districts for the said ghost names for the Public to check if beneficiaries cannot be traced to the four cycles of the YEA,” he said.
The South Tongu MP clarified that it’s totally impossible to pay two or more beneficiaries through the same E-zwich numbers. Claiming, management of YEA are either ignorant or only engaged in ‘cheap propaganda” for political points.
