Nana Akufo Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has directed the Ghana Police Service to apprehended New Patriotic Party (NPP) affiliated youths who've violently protested against his appointment of the new Savelugu Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
Ever since President Nana Akufo Addo's appointment of the Savelugu municipality MCE, NPP youths in the area have protest against it. Some of the youths have said that they reject the President's appointment because the new MCE - Madam Hajia Ayishetu - is not a an NPP member.
Tensions in the area reached its heights when last week Friday, some NPP youths stopped a planned demonstration which was staged to support the embattled MCE who's been forced to go to her office under heavy guard.
Speaking the swearing in ceremony of the new Chief Justice, Madam Sophia Akuffo, President Nana Akufo Addo stated the those who break the law will not be shielded by his government.
