.- Home of NDC’s vice chair of the Ashanti region has been engulfed in flames
- The cause of the disaster is yet to be known as fire fighters are said to have put out the flames
The house of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ashanti regional vice chairman is feared to have been gutted by fire.
So far, the cause of the fire is yet to be made known as eye witnesses claim it could have been through a faulty gas cylinder which exploded in the kitchen.
There were no casualties as personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) are said to have rushed in to salvage the situation.
Meanwhile, Nana Kwasi is feared to have been evacuated from his burnt 3 bedroom flat at Ejisu in the Ashanti region as police personnel begin investigations into what exactly happened.
The Ashanti regional vice chairman is believed to be preparing himself to take on the position of the chairman in the region come the next congress of the opposition party.
His resolve to take up this position follows the Kwesi Botchway report which highlighted the exact reasons why the party lost power to the NPP in the 2016 elections. According to the report, lack of research and also the abuse of incumbency caused the party to suffer a humiliating defeat.
Deputy general secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidohu has revealed that the details of the report highlighted various concerns raised by the former president Rawlings in the recently held June 4th celebrations.
