Nigeria’s most deadly billionaire Kidnapper, Chikwudubem Onwuamadike aka Evans has been finally arrested by the Lagos State police.
The Kidnapper who is said to have two houses in Accra and also has his family based in Ghana was arrested with a Ghanaian biometric passport in his possession.
According to the Inspector General for the Nigeria Police Service, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris who also uses the Evans to avoid his tongue-twisting name was arrested upon bilateral intelligence sharing between security intelligence.
The Nigerian Security Chief speaking at the West Africa National Security Conference in Accra today said kidnaper Chikwudubem Onwuamadike, is an expensive hostage-taker who has at one time demanded as much as $6million ransom for the release of his victim, which in some cases $1million was paid to him.
The IGP said the rich kidnapper accepts payments in instalments until the ransom is paid in full. Evans has also kept a hostage for half a year while waiting for a ransom to be paid.
The notorious criminal is married to one Uchenna Precious Onwuamadike, who is currently leaving in Accra with their five children. She is also said to be working hard in securing Canadian visa to flee Ghana.
The wife, Precious Onwuamadike has told the Vanguard newspaper in Nigerian, She was not aware her husband was into kidnapping and other criminal businesses.
"All I know about his business is that, he was into haulage, buying engine and spare parts for trucks and imports exhaust pipes. That was what he told me. The reason he kept me in Ghana was because he said our children should get quality education," She told the Nigerian paper.
The Nigeria’s IGP given account of many crimes he has committed against humanity stated that, on June 16, 2012, a 35-year old Mbarikatta William Uboma was kidnapped by Evans on his arrival from Hungary while he was close to his house.
He said Mbarikatta William Uboma was in his Toyota Car in the company of his brother when a Passat car emerged from nowhere and blocked his car, blindfolded him and forcefully abducted him to an unknown destination.
They later demanded a ransom of N10M but the family however paid N2M which he was finally dropped at Okota on the third day.
The Police Chief said the Kidnapper, was finally nabbed two weeks ago in Lagos at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport while going through departure formalities wanting to check out of Nigeria.
Chikwudubem Onwuamadike aka Evans is a big name in Nigeria for notorious high-end kidnapping pull-offs.
