NSMQ17: Presec dumps Accra Aca easily to progress to next stage

- Accra Academy, Pope John schools kicked out of 2017 edition of NSMQ

- Presec topples Accra Aca to qualify for quarter-finals of #NSMQ17

Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Legon has booked a place the 2017 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz quarter-finals.

Presec beat St. Johns Grammar School and Accra Academy in a dramatic contest.

The five-time winners, PRESEC started on a slow and bad pace but turned out the eventual winners of the contest that saw many Ghanaians following on social media.

PRESEC won the competition with 45 points followed by St John who had 36 and Accra Academy trailing behind with the 26.

The contest which was expected to to be a straight fight between Presec and Accra Academy so many rivals of Presec wanting their downfall.

Another interesting contest on the day was the one that saw Jachie Pramso SHS beat Pope John SHS and Zion College.

Jachie Pramso led the contest with 35 points beating fellow contenders Zion College who had 34 points and Pojoss with 29 points.

This is the second time in a row the best all-male institution in the Eastern Region is losing out to a lesser-known school in the competition as it suffered the same fate at the hands of Ghana National School in 2016 edition.

The aim of the National Science & Maths Quiz is to promote the study of the sciences and mathematics, help students develop quick thinking and a probing and scientific mind about the things around them.
