It not often that you would see two political parties in Ghana arguing about a title that most political parties would readily hand over to the other.
However, on Wednesday June 21st, the airwaves of Adom FM, an Accra-based radio station, were turned into a battleground of words between panelists from the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress.
The morning show of the radio station,‘Dwaso Nsem’ came alive with a livid debate on which of the two parties was more likely to be corrupt when voted into power.
The NDC stance, proffered by panelist, Agbesi Nutsu, was that the governing NPP was full of more corrupt individuals.
He claimed that over previous terms in office of the NPP, the now Nana Addo-led party had shown a greater corruption than the NDC.
His point was, however, countered by a staunch NPP supporter and member of the party's communications team, Nana Yaw Preko.
Preko urged his NDC counterpart to recount the endless list of scandalous activities that trailed the John Mahama-led NDC administration.
According to him, the recent time in power of the NDC, which was ended by Nana Addo in 2016, showed that the "umbrella" party was indeed the most corrupt of the two.
Though the panelist could not bring each other to come to a consensus, it was somehow awkward to hear politicians admit to the presence of corruption in their respective parties albeit maintaining that the other party contained more corruption.
Between the NDC and the NPP, which do you think is more corrupt?
