- Nunoo-Mensah says he was sidelined in the then Mahama-led administration
- According to him, Mahama and the "small boys" in government then disrested him
A former National Security Advisor, Brigadier General Nunoo-Mensah has revealed that the reason why former president John Mahama failed was because of the use of inexperienced youth in his government.
According to the Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Force, John Mahama didn't use "experienced sensible" people to rule the nation under his regime.
Speaking on UTV’s 'Adekye Nsroma’ show Friday, the outspoken Nunoo-Mensah opined that the Mahama administration would have been a success if he had blended the old experienced with the young.
He added that the influx of inexperienced and naive personnel at the presidency was very problematic.
Nunoo-Mensah also added that even though he was national security adviser at a point in the NDC Mahama-led administration he was totally ignored.
“National security adviser; I was just occupying the position…I was not consulted on any issue and any advice I gave was ignored. I felt so bad; as if I was doing something wrong,” he said.
Citing the Gitmo 2 case as an example, he said the Mahama administration did not consult him before deciding to accept the detainees into the country.
“…the most painful thing is people who can be your children undermining and disrespecting you. I felt so bad. I wrote a lot of letters on issues like land guards and many issues to ministers but they didn’t mind me; nobody bothered to answer me.”
