Tensions are high in the Upper East region following the death of a mortuary man together with a young man in the conflicted region.
The development which is said to have worsened developments in the area has seen soldiers deployed at the Bolgatanga Police Station.
StarrFM has reported that the mortuary attendant crashed a private vehicle into a passerby – a development which saw the angry residents attack him with stones.
According to the mortuary attendant; “I was coming from Bongo and he (the deceased) was also riding coming from Bolga to Yorogo. There was a motorbike in front of him. He was overtaking the other guy in front of him. He lost control and [rode] towards me. I came out of the car and went to where he rolled to. I saw that his intestines were out.” the mortuary man told Starr News.
The development in the area is feared to have left the entire town on a standstill especially as residents prepare for the upcoming Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations on Monday.
