The claims by Sarah, 22, that Gyan forcibly took advantage of her made national headlines.

She claimed at the time that Gyan slept with her through the anus and also impregnated her.

Gyan, who strenuously denied the claims, has reiterated his denial in an interview on the Delay Show.

He said Sarah got in touch with him via social media and they became friends, communicating frequently via phone.

He said after the 2015 AFCON tournament, he returned to Ghana and met her at a football training ground at SCC in the Weija Constituency of Accra.

Gyan said he met her for the first time at the training ground and, together, they drove to her house in his dirty training wear.

According to the Black Stars skipper, he slept with Sarah at her house and that she later opened the gate for him while he was leaving.

He said at no point did he force himself on her, stressing that everything was consensual.

Gyan said that Sarah's family later tried to take financial advantage of him by saying that he slept with her through the anus and that he impregnated her.

He added that he asked his wife for forgiveness after news of the affairs reached her.
