The musician is alleged to have drowned under mysterious circumstances when he went with his friends, including the Black Stars’ skipper to Ada in July 2014.

Gyan said that whenever the group meets, they reminisce about old times, and become disheartened whenever issues relating to Castro comes up.

This, according to him, is a significant reason he has stayed clear of music in recent times. Castro was a key factor in the unearthing of his music talent, he added.

News of Castro’s tragic disappearance and presumed death reached Ghanaians on the same Sunday afternoon the group of friends visited Ada on holiday.

The late music artiste was said to have been involved in a jet ski accident, after which his body was never found.

The incident stimulated a myriad of speculations key among them being the opinion that the footballer has used his longtime friend for rituals.

As a rebuttal to that perception, he stated emphatically that it was God that placed him at the pinnacle of his career, and therefore the question of rituals was a nonstarter.

In narrating the sequence of events that led to the incident, he stated that they headed to Aqua Safari to spend their usual holidays, in contrast to previous times when they went to Akosombo.

This was because the usual yacht they patronized at their usual spot was broken down.

Castro originally decided not to go for the trip, because he had a funeral to attend, but later changed his mind and decided to meet his friends at a location, so that they could all go.
