Outspoken Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson has explained that she being a feminist does not mean she hates marriage and doesn’t develop ‘love’ for men.
According to her, she being single at age 32 is an indication she hates men but only abhors abusive and chauvinistic ones.
The ‘hardcore’ actress has come under barrage of criticism after declaring her stance on marriage and other gender issues.
Comedian, DKB in few weeks ago lashed out at the actress, advising young women against joining feminists groups.
To him, the so-called feminists groups are deceivers who will recruit them into their ‘miserable’ lifestyle.
But the filmmaker in her latest Instagram post, insisted “Feminism is all about fighting for equality irrespective of gender. If you are a man and you believe in this, you are a feminist,”
She continued that “We don’t hate men, we just don’t like the abusive, oppressive and chauvinist type; we also don’t believe our world should revolve around them, if we don’t want to”.
According to her feminists groups don’t hate marriage. “We just don’t believe it’s a must for every woman, or there’s a timeline for when you should, just to please society,” she explained.
The beautiful actress, passing a message to those criticizing her marital status at age 32, in spite of her success perhaps provoked her, claiming she owes no one an explanation.
“You don’t have to like what we stand for, but you have to respect our rights. We just want to live our lives the way we have chosen to,” she emphatically said.
