YEN.com.gh can report that a terrible accident has occurred in the Northern Regional town of Tinga in Bole Bamboi.
The accident claimed the lives of 10 people and inflicted injuries on at least eight people, according to a report by Accra-based Adom FM.
It occurred when a mini-van heading to Wa from Kumasi collided with a trailer truck that was heading to Kumasi from Wa.
The mini-bus ended up severely mangled after contact with the truck.
Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service arrived at the scene and helped extricate people trapped in the vehicle.
Police in Bole have confirmed the accident to Adom FM.
They say the eight injured people were sent to a government hospital in Bole for medical care.
Road accidents are a major cause of mortality in Ghana.
Over 2000 people die in accidents each year.
In 2016, accidents killed 2198 people, according to the data from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Ghana Police Service.
