Ghana midfielder, Michael Essien got himself some good company as he joined some Indonesian kids to commemorate the Ramadan festivities.

Muslims around the world are celebrating the Eid-ul-Fitr to mark a successful end to Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

Essien has shown his love for the people of Bandung since he officially signed his contract with Persib Bandung.

Following the conclusion of a 29 to 30 days fasting, Muslims gather to feast and thank Allah for taking them through the exercise.

Ghana midfielder Michael Essien made sure he was not left out of this year's Ramadan celebrations as he joined a host of other Indonesian kids to commemorate the occasion.

Essien took to Instagram to wish all Muslims around the world a happy Eid-Mubarak.

The former Chelsea and AC Milan anchorman was all smiles as he posted a picture of himself on social media feasting with the kids.

The 34-year-old accompanied the picture with the words: "On this joyous occasion of Eid Al-Fitr..Wishing you a prosperity, happiness and peaceful Eid. Happy Eid Mubarak 1438 H to you and your loved ones ! May The grace & blessings of Allah be with you always!!!!!"

Essien joined Indonesian top-flight side Persib Bandung in January as a free agent after parting ways with Greek side Panathinaikos.

The midfielder has gone on to establish himself as a fan favourite, engaging in numerous humanitarian projects with fans and especially kids.
