- Nana Addo has asked Muslims to pray for his government to be able to "rule Ghana well"
- He also hailed the National Chief Imam, Shaykh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu as an epitome of peace
The president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called in the Muslim community of Ghana to keep him in their prayers so that the New Patriotic Party-led administration would do a good job.
Nana Addo made this request while speaking a gathering of Islamic faithfuls on Monday.
At the gathering, Nana Addo, praised the National Chief Imam, Shaykh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu. He said to the cleric, "You epitomize the Islamic principle of peace".
The religious event took place at Black Star Square to mark the end of the Muslim fasting period of Ramadan.
Nana Addo, who laid praises on Muslims for the good behaviour exhibited during the Ramadan period, called on them to maintain the virtues exhibited even after the Eid celebration.
"...Let us celebrate and make merry in moderation. I pray for a trouble-free and accident-free Eid celebration,” he added.
He took the opportunity to assure Muslims that the Zongo Fund as promised by the New Patriotic Party during the 2016 campaign, will surely come to pass.
Nana Addo asked that Muslims across Ghana should make sure to contribute to the ongoing discussions on what the Zongo Development Fund can be put to when it becomes operational.
