- Ahead of Ghana's friendly with Mexico, YEN brings you a possible starting XI
- This will be coach Kwesi Appiah's first international friend since he took over
Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has some decisions to make as Ghana prepares to take on Mexico in the early hours of Thursday.
The former Al Khartoum boss had the perfect debut when the Stars romped to a 5-0 win over Ethiopia in this month’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
But with Ghana set to face Mexico in an international friendly, the coach is expected to make a few changes in his line-up.
The goalkeeping department is expected to remain unchanged, with Richard Ofori keeping his place. Ofori was in post when the Black Stars played Ethiopia and looks likely to continue deputising for the absent Adam Kwarasay.
For defence, there could be some changes as well. Harrison Afful could still occupy the right-back spot, with new boy, Lumor Agbenyenu keeping his left-back role.
The central-defensive pairing, though, might be hit with some changes. Liberty Professionals captain, Samuel Sarfo is expected to be handed his debut, with Jerry Akaminko partnering him.
The midfield pair could consist of Ebenezer Ofori and Columbus Crew midfielder Mohammed Abu, whilst Thomas Agyepong and David Accam play on the wings.
In attack, Abdul Majeed Waris is largely expected to partner Raphael Dwamena – with Asamoah Gyan being rested.
Here is YEN's probable line-up to face El Tri of Mexico:
Richard Ofori; Harrison Afful, Lumor Agbenyenu, Samuel Sarfo, Jerry Akaminko; Mohammed Abu, Ebenezer Ofori; Thomas Agyepong, David Accam, Abdul Majeed Waris; Raphael Dwamena.
