Four people have perished in Lake Victoria, Kenya, after the boat they were in capsized mid-journey just near the Sirongo beach.
Among those who perished was a man, his wife and their six-month-old child.
The three were on their way to visit a relative when the worst happened. Witnesses say that the boat hit an object and started leaking.
The deceased, Genevieve Mlindo, was a Kenyan nurse and was in the company of her husband, her child, her brother-in-law and her mother-in-law.

She was working at a Tanzanian hospital until her death on the night of Sunday, June 12.
Her mother-in-law however, reportedly survived the terrible accident that claimed the lives of her son and his immediate family.
