Students sacked from Damongo SHS over "immoral party" claim innocence, accuse school of framing them

YEN.com.gh earlier reported on some students of Damongo Senior High School in the Northern Region of Ghana who were expelled from the school for allegedly participating in a steamed amorous party.

However, the seven students in the West Gonja District school, have denied the allegations.

According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, one of the students fingered in the allegations has talked on the issues discrediting the reportage by the school authorities.

The student who reportedly to the news outlet, said that even though they were in a rented apartment when a teacher "caught" them, the reports of them participating in the alleged immorality is untrue.

According to the MyNewsGH reportage, the student said they had gone to partake in a Eid-ul-fitr party in the Damongo township but had to spend the night at a friend's place because it was took late to return to campus.

"We were not having sex at all", the student told MyNewsGH contrary to earlier reports.

The student said that, even as the tutor who caught them said they were almost naked, it was because they had to sleep without their clothing due to the warmth in the room.

Early reports said that the school authorities had paraded the "accused" students through the Damongo township in an attempt to shame them before their dismissal from the school.

The students have however, maintained innocence claiming that the school authorities are drawing up extravagant stories to tarnish their image.
