Meet the Adisco headmaster, William Kusi-Yeboah

The ambition of the ‘Zebra Boys’ from Cape Coast to secure the bragging right for this years’ National Science and Maths Quiz (#NSMQ), got crashed at the final stage of the competition after locking horns with the Prempeh boys and St Thomas Aquinas school.

However, the headmaster of the Adisadel College, William Kusi-Yeboah became the guest celebrity of the day as he was spotted fully represented in the Adisco black and white zebra suite.

Though the defending champions failed to send the trophy back to Cape Coast, their headmaster caught admiration of media cameras with many turning him into instant celebrity.

Mr Kusi-Yeboah, who was stunning in the 'Zebra uniform’ was mobbed by many audience, high profile personalities for a photo shot including some old Adisco boys.

This years’ quiz was keenly contested as Prempeh College secured the bragging right as winners by beating reigning champions Adisadel College and St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School.

At the end of the competition, Prempeh College obtained 53pts with St. Thomas Aquinas emerging 2nd with 51pvts, followed by Adisadel College with 31pts.

Prempeh College secured this years' bragging privilege

It was a tight competition as students from the three schools were engaged in a serious mind battle till the end of the final round.

This is Prempeh College’s fourth title, whereas Aquinas won in 2013 and Adisadel winning for the first time in 2016.

Presbyterian Boys School (PRESEC), Legon, remains the school with the highest (5) national titles.

Adisadel College gets a cash prize of GHC20,000 and packages from Tigo and GCB Bank for placing 3rd, St. Thomas Aquinas SHS gets GHC30,000 and packages from Tigo and GCB Bank and the winners of the 2017 National Science & Maths Quiz, Prempeh College gets GHC40,000 and packages from Tigo and GCB Bank.
