Prempeh College, a senior secondary educational institute in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, is completely basking in the glory from winning the 2017 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz.

The contestants of the school, who were crowned champions after beating Adisadel College and St. Thomas Aquinas SHS at the grand finale in Accra, took the trophy to a former president of Ghana.

Prempeh College contestants were at the residence of John Agyekum Kufuor to officially present the trophy to him.

In photos, that have since gone viral online, John Kufuor is seen posing for a shot with the students as other reach out to him for a handshake in other photos.

John Agyekum Kufuor, who was president of Ghana on the bill of the New Patriotic Party, is one of the many distinguished old students of the Kumasi-based Prempeh College.

Winning the 2017 edition of the national competition of 135 Senior High Schools, increase the number of times Prempeh has won the competition to 4.

The school first won the contest in 1994, then again in 1996.

Prempeh again took the coveted trophy "home" two years ago in 2015.
