- Kennedy Agyapong has alleged the previous BOST boss stole money from the institution
- He claims some NPP members are also following in the corrupt footsteps of the previous government
The New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has alleged that the previous director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transport company with the aid of some civil servants, embezzled huge sums of money from the company.
According to him, Kwame Awuah Darko who was the previous director of BOST, stole close to $100 million under the previous administration.
Kennedy Agyapong argued that he has tried to warn his party members of the nefarious activities that went on in BOST before party came into power, but no one has listened to him.
Speaking on Asempa FM, the Assin Central MP stated: "NDC gurus at BOST had clandestine meetings on the January 12, 2017 to ensure this government does not succeed in some areas. They have remained calm and giving instructions to you and you are falling into their traps."
Mr. Agyapong has further bemoaned the continuation of corrupt behaviors by some members of his party, currently in government positions.
He said the BOST saga is a plot by some NPP bigwigs to ruin the current BOST MD, Alfred Obeng Boateng.
The MP stated that he had already advised the NPP financier to prove his innocence amidst the allegations, and then walk away peacefully.
Meanwhile, the embattled direct of BOST, Alfred Obeng Boateng has denied reports that he has turned in his resignation letter.
A letter was circulating on social media on Friday, June 30, which stated Mr. Obeng had vacated his post.
However, a spokesperson for the MD has denied these reports, stating Mr. Obeng is still at his position.
