President of the republic is attending a crucial African Union summit in Ethiopia were he is expected to contribute to discussions on the best economic direction for the African continent.
The meeting of African leaders, will be the 29th of the Assembly of the African Union and thus will fall under the theme, “Harnessing the Demographic Dividend through Investment in the Youth”.
This crucial meeting will see African leaders discuss matters like gun violence in the continent and also the Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA).
The visit to Ethiopia follows the stream of visits across Africa with the recent been that of Zambia where Nana Addo called on the Zambian government to help boost trade ties between both countries.
Meanwhile, minority in parliament have spoken against the travels of the president describing them as “illegal”. According to them, the president needs to alert parliament for approval. Nana Addo is therefore expected back to the country on July 4, 2017.
