- President Akufo-Addo is currently in Addis Ababa for AU Summit

President Akufo-Addo, has arrived in Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa for the 29th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Heads of State.
The summit is to help African leaders discuss and identify specific roadmap to arrest and deal with all major challenges confronting the youth of the continent.
The theme for the summit is ”harnessing the Demographic Dividend through investments in youth”.
Some issues the leaders will focus in discussing and agreed on include: institutional reforms of the African Union, A roadmap of practical steps to silence guns in Africa by 2020, as well as Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA), and the implementation of Agenda 2063 among others.
The leaders will also focus on strategic framework for the socio-economic transformation of the continent over the next 50 years.
President Akufo-Addo was received at the Bole international airport by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway and some embassy officials in Addis Ababa.
