The Wassa Akropong police command in the western region of Ghana has arrested a 29 year-old man for allegedly selling his infant baby.
The man only identified as Sule, attempted to sell the baby secretly to a buyer at Ghc 5000.

According to reports, the suspect, made the attempt to sell the infant daughter to a self-styled Muslim whose identity cannot be ascertain by local residents.
Residents of the area suspects the allege buyer might not be a Muslim as he claim, since he is an alien to many town folks.
The police reports that, the suspect has been married to the baby’s mother whose name is immediately unknown, over the past three and a half years.
Though, no one could confirm why the suspects, Sule is selling his baby, but some residents suspects it could be poverty.
The Wassa Akropong police decline further comments on whether the baby's mother, who is legitimately married to Sule is directly involved in the crime.
