A Ghanaian stage actor, Obed "Ronny' Nii Armah, has drowned at the Laboma Beach in Accra, YEN.com.gh has learnt.
Ronny drowned while swimming at the beach on Monday, according to several social media reports.
He is said to have been drowning but was quickly rescued from the water.
He, however, died shortly after he was pulled out of the water.
The stage actor was a third year student of the University of Cape Coast.
Rony had acted in several top plays by Scribe Productions such as "I Want to Sue God" and "This Family is Not for Sale".
His death reportedly came a week after his mother was buried.
It has devastated his friends and family, including Kobina Ansah, the Scribe Production CEO.
On Facebook, Ansah lamented the death of his friend.
"God! My heart is sooo broken. My brother Ronny Nii Armah just died like that," he wrote.
