Well known radio and television personality Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, popularly known as Afia Schwarzenegger, has taken a major swipe at Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan over his failed penalty attempt during the Ghana-USA friendly match.

Afia Schwarzenegger, Ghana's self-styled queen of comedy has been pretty well known for her use of her social media profile - mostly Instagram - to lash out at those she's disagreed with over the years. Recently though, she aimed her social media "canon" Ghana's senior football team capain, Asamoah Gyan.

During Saturday's friendly Match between the Ghana's Black Stars and the US national football team, skipper Asamoah Gyan missed a penalty. His penalty miss - one that probably would have changed the game's outcome - has garnered lots of criticism from Ghanaians both at home and abroad, and Afia Schwarzenegger couldn't help but join the fray.

In a post on her Instagram profile, the popular TV and radio personality ponders why Ghana's veteran skipper choose to take the penalty after he promised Ghanaians that he would no longer take another penalty as long as he played for the national team.

It would be recalled that skipper Asamoah Gyan stated that he would never take another penalty for Ghana's senior national football team following his tragic penalty miss at the 2014 World Cup finals in South Africa. According to the veteran player, this decision had stemmed from his mother who gave him the advice in her dying days.
