The Nima police station has clamped down on 17 women caught in the act of selling their bodies for cash.
According to the police, the arrested persons included two nursing mothers and other men stated to have allegedly attacked the police for arresting the said women.
Divisional police commander at Nima, Chief Superintendent Abraham Acquaye, has revealed that the arrests were made as part of efforts to clean up the interchange of various inimical activities.
So far, the issue related to the prostitution remains highly criminal in Ghana with culprits feared to be liable to between a 10 to 15 year jail sentence.
