An aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Alhaji Abdul- Rahaman Abubakari has urged government functionaries to work hard to ensure that the NPP retains political power for a long time so as to turn around the fortunes of Ghanaians.
He said that the NPP needed more than 8 years to ensure that it achieved all the developmental goals it set for itself to achieve for the country and for Ghanaians at large.
Speaking at a gathering of party faithful in Lawra, the National Chairman aspirant explained that the NPP was the only party that had the interest of the Ghanaian at heart and for the party to be able to touch the lives of all Ghanaians, they had to be kept in power by the Ghanaian voters.
He urged the rank and file of the party to put in their quota to ensure that no other party usurped power from the current administration which was going to disrupt the developmental agenda of the party.
He advised the gathering to vote for the party executives who listed their plans and had the technical know-how to carry out their mandate. He advised against voting for any candidate who would tend to become a divisive leader with their comments and actions.
He advised party members to remain united even in the face of opposition.
