A flood disaster at Twifo-Praso in the Central Region has left over 1,800 people displaced, with numerous other properties destroyed.
According to NADMO, no deaths have been reported so far but the homes and properties of residents in the district have been destroyed, leaving thousands of people affected.
Twifo-Praso became engulfed in a flood disaster after the spilling over of the River Pra.
The area has witnessed heavy rainfall in recent weeks, leading to the overflow of the River Pra.
The continuous rainfall led to the river spilling over to the homes and farms of residents, with a lot of properties ending up being destroyed.
Scores of people have also been displaced following the flood disaster, however, it is understood that an emergency response operation is already underway to help all affected persons.
Acting Director of NADMO in the district, Richmond Addae, empathised with all affected persons, insisting the floods had empathised proved damaging.
Describing the situation, he said some of the affected residents were currently pitching camp in classrooms, with others were also in the process of putting up motels in order to get somewhere to sleep.
He added that NADMO has supplied relief items to some of the affected persons, but was quick to add that the victims were still in need of more.
He revealed that majority of them were currently stranded, with no place to stay, while calling on NGOs and other corporate organisations to assist victims in overcoming the flood disaster.
