- The New Juaben NHIA director has resigned following the one-week ultimatum given by the NPP in the area
- His decision was made to ensure no confrontations would ensue with the party
Kwadwo Gyeke-Darko, the Municipal Director of the New Juaben branch of the National Health Insurance Authority has turned in his resignation.
His decision follows the numerous threats and one-week ultimatum by the New Patriotic Party, to leave his position willingly or face a forceful removal.
Last Thursday, the Eastern Regional Communications Director of the NPP, David Prah gave the order to Gyeke-Darko to quit during his interview on Kingdom FM in Koforidua.
He stated the NHIA director was associated with the National Democratic Congress, and was the regional Director of Elections for the party in the 2016 elections.
Mr. Prah further argued that Gyeke-Darko has on countless occasions, criticized the capabilities of President Akufo-Addo, which makes him unfit to work with the current administration.
“We are telling the New Juaben Municipal Director of the NHIA, Gyeke Darko, who is a strong NDC man and a Director of Election for the NDC in the 2016 election to vacate his post in the next one week else we will eject him from the office.
He has demonstrated that he lacks confidence in the President so he cannot work with this government,” Mr. Prah said.
Starr FM reports, that Mr. Gyeke-Darko in an effort to avoid any confrontations with the NPP branch in the constituency stepped down from his post.
