- Government has appointed Edward Mahama of the PNC for an ambassadorial role
- The 2016 presidential candidate will have special duties but yet not be assigned to any country
Call it a deviation from the political norm, president of the republic has extended a hand of service to the 2016 presidential candidate of the People's National Convention (PNC), Dr. Edward Mahama.
Dr. Mahama's appointment will see him act in the power of an "ambassador-at-large". What this position means is that the former presidential candidate will have special duties but yet not be assigned to any country.
This announcement was made when the president swore in 21 government officials including the son of the speaker of parliament, Mike Nii Nortey Ocquaye Jnr.
The decision by Nana Addo to appoint Edward Mahama follows government's resolve to create a bi-partisan, multi-faceted administration devoid of political colours nor affiliation.
