- Ghana Atomic Energy Commission is saying they gave the Kwabenya SHS land to Ga East Assembly
- They say lawyer Adwoa also made similar request for the construction of the same school
The Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC), has rejected claims that, it released some acres of land to lawyer Sarah Adwoa Safo for the construction of Dome-Kwabenya Community Day SHS.
According to the Commission, available records indicate that the land was given to the Ga East Municipal Assembly. Though the MP made same request for the school.
The Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, has been subjected to public ridicule following her claims that the Kwabenya Community SHS was realized through her effort in collaboration with the World Bank.
The deputy Majority Leader claim among other things in a video that has since gone viral that, the Mahama administration only constructed the Community Day SHS in the NDC’s strongholds.
The MP has also released some letters purported to have been written to authorities at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission in support of her claim after receiving massive backlash from the NDC.
But in a new twist to the development, the Communications Director of the GAEC Mark Kwasi Sarfo said per the records available to him, land for the SHS was given to the Ga East Municipal Assembly and not the MP.
Though he acknowledged that, Sarah Adwoa Safo also made same request for the said land.
“The first request was from the Ga East Municipal Assembly, so we responded to the assembly giving them where the SHS has been situated now,” he stated.
He further rejected claim by the MP that she secured the land for the project from the commission with her consolidated fund.
