“It is a caution for us to be careful in the environment we are working in. I am not too surprised; but it is an interesting thing that has been uncovered,” said the Lands Minister.
Commenting on the issue, NDC Deputy General Secretary Anyidoho said that the device's discovery shouldn't have been made public. He stated that this sort of discovery should have been "resolved internally", adding that the matter being made public signified some sort of confusion with the authorities.

According to Mr. Koku Anyidoho, the position of Lands and Resources Minister was given to Hon. John Peter Amewu so he could do the party's dirty work, and later be replaced by someone else.
Mr. Anyidoho stated that Hon. John Peter Amewu is aware of the "trap" set for him, thus his decision to make the listening device's discovery public.
"Under normal circumstances, he should have called the security to debugged the office. But for Amewu to come out public to speak about it means he is aware of the whole plot and trap set for him. There is serious infighting and turf war in the NPP and government." He said.
