"The killers of my son should ask for forgiveness from God" - Maxwell Mahama's father

The father of murdered military officer, Major Maxwell Mahama, has told the suspected killers of his son to turn to God for forgiveness.

Captain Dennis Mahama (Rtd) was speaking on the Accra-based radio station, Hot FM, the father of the late Maxwell Mahama spoke on the accused killers.

On 29th May, 2017, the late Maxwell Mahama was lynched by some residents of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Upper Denkyira West District in the Central Region.

The officer, was accused of being a robber by the angry residents who attacked him and beat him to death.

Some suspects have been arrested by the Ghana Police Force and are currently undergoing court proceedings.

The father, stated that, together with the mother of the deceased have forgiven the killers.

"I and his mother cannot say we have forgiven the killers, considering how hurt we are and I am nobody so far as the creation of Maxwell Adams is concerned", he said.

He continued that his son was a creation of God and thus the killers should rather ask God for forgiveness.

"He’s a creation of God so they should go to God and ask for forgiveness for destroying God’s creation because I didn’t create him; I just fathered him."
