- The 33-year-old actor who became the first Ghanaian citizen to hit a million likes on Facebook thinks “it’s too early” to talk about his political ambitions
- The actor broke his silence on the controversial seizure of his Toyota V8 vehicle said to belong to the state and allegedly gifted him by the administration of former President John Mahama
Award-winning Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has revealed receiving calls from many people who want him to contest for the position of National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Dumelo was a regular feature on campaign platforms of the NDC during the 2016 elections and has never hidden his support for the party.
Unfortunately, though, the NDC – led by John Mahama – lost the elections to the Nana Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The actor has, however, remained steadfast in his support for the NDC, and has now revealed that he has received calls from many people to contest for the position of National Youth Organiser of the party.
Speaking in an interview with Joy FM, Dumelo said he had been “getting a lot of calls” urging him to contest for the position.
He added: “I’m a youth and I am committed to championing the cause of the youth in this country; whether NDC or the governing NPP [New Patriotic Party].
“So the feeling is there. I just want Ghana to develop in the right direction whether NDC or NPP.”
