- The Ashanti Regional NPP chairman has vowed to leave the political game if Nana Addo fails to deliver
- He said there would be a 'new Ghana' with massive infrastructure development under the new government
Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party has pledged to end his political journey if President Akufo-Addo does not fulfill his promises.
“I will resign from politics if Akufo-Addo fails to develop Ghana as President…I believe in him [Akufo-Addo], I have big heart for him and I’m optimistic that he will deliver to the expectations of Ghanaians,” He said in an interview on Adom FM.
The NPP chairman assured Ghanaians that there were many proposed developments that will be implemented by the government.
According to him, a ‘new Ghana’ will be rebuilt according to the plans the Akufo-Addo administration has made, as part of their vision to develop the country.
He assured party members to remain calm and patient in their demand for appointments, since the government had only been in power for 7 months
Chairman Wontumi’s remarks were in response to some angry complaints by members of the party in the Ashanti Region that have bemoaned the lack of appointments promised them, when the party took over.
Meanwhile, some members of the NPP communications team in the Ashanti Region have alleged that the Director of Communications for the region, Mr. Kwasi Kyei Danso has kept an undisclosed amount of money that was supposed to be used to reward communication members for their role in the 2016 elections.
The aggrieved communication members, led by a popular serial caller called Oga Willie were therefore calling on the National Executives to investigate their claims and get the Director of communications in the region to refund monies that were due them.
However, Mr. Kwasi Kyei Danso debunked the claims that he had hoarded any such money.
