Asamoah Gyan expresses his support after Kotoko accident

Captain of the Senior National Team has expressed his heartfelt support to Asante Kotoko after news of their fatal accident broke. Asamoah Gyan, in a post sympathized with the team to show his support and solidarity to them after the accident.

The accident is believed to have occurred when Kotoko was on their way to Kumasi after their midweek match day 22 defeat playing against Inter Allies F.C

The accident occurred at Nkawkaw, Wednesday night when it is reported that the team bus run into an immobile truck with registration number AS 7329-13 which was loaded with rice.

One official, the Equipment officer of the team is reported dead. Many people in the team bus also suffered various forms of injury.

It is reported that the coach of the club, Steve Pollack and the Assistant Coach were trapped in the bus for up to one hour after the incident. It took the help of the National Fire Service to rescue them out of the mangled team bus.

The former Liberty Professionals player on behalf of himself as Captain of the Black Stars of Ghana expressed his deepest condolence to the life that was lost and expressed his love and committed prayers for all those who had sustained any form of injury due to the accident.

The bus contained about 35 members from the club including the playing and non-playing members.

The long-serving Black Stars Captain responding to the accident said “My thoughts and prayers are with the management, playing body and the supporters of Kumasi Asante Kotoko on this fatal accident”.
