- The man was wanted for failure to show up in court on several occasions
A 35-year-old Oklahoma man left cops baffled when he demanded to be allowed to propose to his girlfriend before they could arrest him.
Mr Brandon Thompson then reportedly went down on his knees and nicely asked his girlfriend Leandria Keith to spend the rest of her life with him.
“I wasn’t going to go to jail without first expressing my feelings to her. I wanted her to know that I love her and would like spend the rest of my life with her,” Mr Thompson told CBS.

The extremely strange proposal was captured on camera by the seemingly bemused cops moments before they took Mr Thompson in.
According to officer Lincoln Anderson, Mr Thompson was wanted for failing to show up in court to answer charges on possession of illegal substance, firearms, among others.
“When he asked if he could be allowed to propose to his girlfriend, that really took us by huge surprise. It's not everyday you see that kind of thing,’ says Anderson.
But that did not stop the police from taking him in. His family was, however, able to raise some money to bail him out.
He is expected in court again on 17th July.
