Thomas Obeng Asare, Kotoko equipment manager, is said to have died in the ghastly accident involving the team bus at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.
The accident, according to reports, occurred while team was heading home to Kumasi after losing their premier league fixture 1-0 to Inter Allies.
The Kotoko team bus, which was carrying 35 players and officials, reportedly crashed into a truck that had broken down on the side of the road.
Apart from the equipment handler who was killed, several players and officials were injured.
Midfielder Baba Mahama was one among the injured, according to multiple media reports.
Right back, Augustine Effah, and Coach Steven Pollack were also injured.
The injured were receiving medical care at the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw.
On social media, many Ghanaians have commiserated with the Kotoko team.
