- About a hundred of the service personnel are unwilling to go to the town
- The Secretariat has advised the general public against the spread of negative reports about the town
National Service personnel posted to Denkyira – Obuasi have been asked not to fear for their lives.
Reports reaching YEN indicate that over one hundred (100) people assigned to the area have refused to go there, due to the incident involving the slain military officer, Major Maxwell Mahama.

The Public Relations Officer of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Ambrose Entsiwah Junior, has advised that the public should be cautious of creating the impression that it is a dangerous place.
This, he said, is because those posted there need the right frame of mind to execute their duties.
To him, those assigned to the area should be encouraged, as the secretariat would take measures to ensure their safety, if there is an indication of risk.
