- Casely-Hayford had earlier criticized the House of Parliament, describing its members as money-wasters who make irrelevant decisions
- Ras Mubarak has expressed displeasure at these comments, calling them an insult to the Honorable House
- He asked that Parliament bring the analyst before them on charges of contempt
Ras Mubarak, the Member of Parliament for the Kumbungu Constituency in the Northern Region, has called on parliament to demand the presence of Financial Analyst, Sydney Casely-Hayford before the House.
According to Mr. Mubarak, Casely-Hayford disrespected the dignity of the House and its members, and should be brought in for contempt.
Ras Mubarak was responding to the statements by Casely-Hayford at a conference recently, where he said, if it were up to him, the country’s central law-making body would not exist.
Casely-Hayford described the House as a money-wasting, indecisive body, which is not able to tackle the challenges that is brought before them.
According to a Starr FM report, Ras Mubarak addressed the House on Thursday, when he lambasted the financial analyst for his words, stating these comments bother on the promotion of hatred and vandalism on the House.
Mr. Mubarak speaking on the floor of the house said Casely-Hayford’s remarks are, “offensive, they are outrightly benighted. And coming from a man who seems discombobulated from the world he inhabits.”
The MP further warned that the analyst’s “comments if allowed to pass will set a very bad precedent and create more room for people to impugn the reputation of this House."
He therefore implored the House to bring Mr. Casely-Hayford in on charges of contempt against the honorable House.
