Police on the Mallam-Kasoa road are said to have arrested suspected armed robbers believed to have been behind the snatching of a Hyundai Elantra at Lapaz in Accra.
YEN.com.gh is yet to get a confirmation on the arrests but reports by mynewsgh.com claim that the robbers later abandoned the vehicle at Ablekuma fan milk which was retrieved by the police who later managed to arrest the fleeing bandits from their hideout at a location between Mallam and Kasoa.
Earlier the police service issued a press briefing on the development, impressing on Ghanaians to help in the search for these robbers.
These armed thugs are feared to have shot dead a police officer in the process with the other officer reported to have run for his life on the spot.
The attack on the streets of Lapaz saw many an eye witness shocked and out of words as most of them described the entire scene as an "action movie”.
Meanwhile, the police have assured the general public of intense security at public places so as to avert a possible playback of what happened at Lapaz.
