- He shared how he once struggled to provide for his son
Popular South African DJ Prince Kaybee has achieved enviable success in his trade. He is in demand throughout his country as well as in neighboring countries.
However, it wasn't easy at first. In an interview with News24, he shared how he once struggled to even provide food and clothing for his nine-year-old son Katleho.
The 28-year-old DJ, whose real name is Kabelo Motsamai, said he has been a single dad since he was 19.

He insists that he doesn't take credit for it because it's his responsibility in the first place. In fact, he gives his mother all the credit because she stood by him through the difficult times.
Although he has a busy schedule as a DJ, he makes sure to make time for his son. He said: “I am close to my son. He calls me Tau.” In his Sesotho language, Tau means lion.
Kabelo said he dropped out of high school and as a result, he was unemployed at the time he had Katleho. His mother was also unemployed and life was difficult.
Heartbroken by the situation, he said he left home to try out life on the streets and was homeless for three years. Soon, he started deejaying at nightclubs, and he said he did it for his son.
He made his big break in 2015 with the release of his Better Days hit and hasn't looked back since. Although he has made it, he said he wouldn't want his son to go into deejaying because it "isn't easy at all."
