- The Northern Regional NPP chairman has accused the regional minister of trying to sabotage him
- He said the minister was bribing the DCEs in the area to cast their vote against him
Daniel Bugri Naabu, the Northern Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party has accused the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed of conspiring to oust him from his position.
According to Bugri Naabu, Salifu along with his deputy Solomon Boar, have begun influencing the mandate of the District Chief Executives in his jurisdiction.
In a report by Starr FM, the NPP chairman alleged that he had received information that the regional minister was backing his opponent Alhaji Samba, in efforts to buy votes against him (Naabu).
Mr. Naabu further fumed that he had left out of activities in his stronghold, as the regional minister embarks on projects without consulting him.
He said he had seen Mr. Saeed going out and about but has never invited him along, which suggests that he is sabotaging him (Naabu) in various places.
“And are you not aware that the regional and the deputy ministers they are campaigning for some people that they are going to take over my position… They are going round campaigning that one Mr. Samba who is their choice and going round everywhere, even going about giving money to some DCEs like ¢GH5,000, not small money,” Mr. Naabu said on Starr FM.
According to the group, the NPP chairman’s efforts which led to the party winning 13 out of the 31 parliamentary seats available, is a sure proof of his dedication to the party.
They seek to persuade the Electoral College of the NPP in the region, to keep the party chairman in his position.
