This is how I heard of my husband’s death – wife of the late equipment officer of Kotoko FC

- According to her, she heard of the unfortunate incident on radio

- This was after she was unsuccessful in obtaining the information from a neighbour who came to visit that morning

- Kotoko FC officials later confirmed his demise to her

According to information reaching YEN, the wife of the Kotoko FC official who passed away in the accident, Portia Obeng Asare had to learn of her husband’s demise from the media.

The late deputy equipment officer’s spouse stated that after the accident, a neighbor came to their household, but failed to inform her that her husband was dead.

She added that all efforts to glean information from the visitor with regard to the early morning visit yielded no results.

She then decided to turn on her radio, only to be hit with the unfortunate news. She then screamed and informed her pastor of the situation, but the man of God assured her that it was untrue.

However, later that morning, officials from the football club confirmed that it was indeed true he was no more.

The players and the technical team of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club were involved in an accident on their way to Kumasi from Accra. This was after a match with Inter Allies at the El – Wak Sports Stadium.

The late Thomas Kofi Asare, who was the deputy equipment officer didn’t survive the tragic accident. Players and other technical members suffered injuries.
