Laryea Kingston, former Black Stars player says he now resort to selling of plots of land before making a living.
According to him, he made heavy investments in acquiring lands in and around Greater Accra when he was making money as a footballer, and that has been his only source of livelihood after retirement.
Speaking in a media interview recently, the former midfielder disclosed that he was lucky to have listened to an advised offered him by one of his then agents.
He said his agent, was always insistence for him to invest some money in the land sector. Though he said he wasn't comfortable, but heeded to the advice.
“I remember my agent was always telling me, “as soon as you stop running, the money stops coming, so try and invest your money into something profitable,” Laryea Kingston said.
Though the footballer admitted ‘wasting’ some substantial amount of money on frivolous things while on form, he took advice given him seriously which is given him some returns today.
“What my agent told me is true, most of the them when you are in form they are with you, but the moment you start having injuries you will call them and they'll not even pick your calls”, he said.
He also indicated that, he owes his senior brother many thanks, for encouraging him invest his money and also securing all his investments in the land sector.
