- The evangelist is facing the law for allegedly swindling his fiancée
- He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of GH¢165,000 with three sureties
A self-acclaimed man of God is currently in hot waters after being sued for fraud.
The accused, whose name was revealed as Evangelist Solomon Yidana, appeared before a Kumasi High Court on Monday following charges of defrauding by false pretence.
The evangelist has been accused of swindling his fiancée, Bernice Kennedy, of GH¢165,000.
According to Police Inspector Eric Asante, the complainant has been dating Yidana for some time now and informed him of her plan to buy a Mercedes Benz GL450 vehicle.
Yidana then convinced her to give him the money, promising to get her the car from a colleague who was a car dealer in Togo.
However, upon receiving the money, Yidana neither delivered the car nor returned it, prompting Bernice to file a case in court.
Her fiancé was subsequently arrested and charged with defrauding by false pretence.
The accused, though, pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of GH¢165,000 with three sureties.
The court presided over by Mr Ekow Mensah, adjourned the case to Monday, July 24, where Yidana is scheduled to reappear.
