- He says he doesn't accept his recent claim of he ignoring the people of Central Region
President Nana Akufo-Addo has disclosed that the incessant attacks coming from the quarter of Assin Central member of parliament, Kennedy Agyapong do not ‘scratch his back’.
According to the president, his government is focussed to deliver to the people of the country and will not be irritated by such negative comments.
Nana Addo told Journalists at the Flagstaff House today that he is aware of the nature of the maverick politician, especially having been in the same party with him for years.
Nana Addo in his address indicated that, though the two could have different views on political matters, he won't accept all his comments about his administration as true.
“Regarding Kennedy Agyapong’s comments, I am not surprised at where he is going. I have been in the same party with him for years and so I understand him and we know ourselves very well”.
President Akufo-Addo added: “His comments do not irritate me, we can have different views on different matters and that is fine, but the statement on the appointments from the Central Region, I will not accept because I don’t believe it is true”.
The Assin lawmaker has been waging war recently against the Akufo-Addo administration, claiming that, he [Agyapong] and some key members of the NPP who sponsored the party to win 2016 victory have been sidelined.
In his recent attack, he accused the president of neglecting the people of Central Region in his ambassadorial appointments.
He also claimed among other things that, the NPP leader has ignored some Central regional MPs who were earlier listed for government top positions due to some strange reasons.
Kennedy Agyapong is also on record to have incited NPP sympathisers from the region to rise up and fight, in demanding what is due them from the President.
