The president of the republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo – Addo has revealed the greatest challenge the current administration faces.
According to him, the creation of jobs has been identified as the one of the cardinal tasks to be executed during his term of office.
The president, whilst engaging media personnel at his first official meeting with the press, indicated that securing jobs for Ghanaians was one of his key promises during the 2016 elections.
He added that with six months in office, he and his team have come to realize the severity of the challenges Ghana’s economy is bedeviled with.
To him, a key indicator of whether or not his administration would be successful would rest on its ability to create jobs.
The president went on to say that he was fully aware that the country’s greatest challenge was its economy; however the state of the economy he and his team inherited was shocking.
Nevertheless, he expressed his optimism in the capabilities of his vice president, Dr. Bawumia, who is the head of the Economic Management Team, to turn the economy around.
